PMAY-G Scheme 2025: Benefits, Eligibility, Documents & How to Apply

PMAY-G or Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin is a government scheme launched by the Ministry of Rural Development to provide pucca houses to the rural poor across India. The scheme targets households without a home or living in kutcha/dilapidated houses.


Benefits of PMAY-G

  • Financial assistance of ₹1.20 lakh in plain areas and ₹1.30 lakh in hilly or difficult areas.
  • Houses come with a minimum area of 25 sq. meters, including a kitchen.

Eligibility Criteria for PMAY-G

To be eligible for PMAY-G, the applicant must:

  • Be a rural resident of India.
  • Belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) or Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
  • Not own a pucca house in any part of India.
  • Be listed in the SECC 2011 (Socio-Economic Caste Census) data.
  • Priority is given to:
    • SC/ST households
    • Widows or single women
    • Disabled persons
    • Landless laborers



Documents Required for PMAY-G

To avail the scheme, the following documents are required:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • SECC 2011 Beneficiary ID
  • MGNREGA Job Card
  • Bank Account Details (linked with Aadhaar)
  • Mobile Number
  • Income Certificate (if applicable)
  • Category Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC applicants)

Selection Process

  1. Automatic selection of beneficiaries from the SECC 2011 database.
  2. Verification of eligibility by the local Gram Sabha.
  3. Sanctioning of the house to eligible beneficiaries.
  4. Beneficiary receives funds in installments directly into their bank account based on the progress of house construction.

How to Apply for PMAY-G?

There is no direct online application for PMAY-G. Only eligible households listed in SECC 2011 are selected.

  1. Visit the official PMAY-G portal: https://pmayg.nic.in
  2. Click on "Stakeholders" > "IAY/PMAYG Beneficiary"
  3. Enter your Registration Number
  4. View your status and details

If you don’t know your registration number:

  • Use "Advanced Search" option to find your name by district, block, panchayat, etc.
